Rotary Club Roopnagar Copilots recently initiated the "Revive the Potter, Refresh Lives: Matka Magic" project,on 24 march 2026 encouraging people to drink water from earthen pitchers. As part of this initiative, they donated 30 earthen pitchers to their neighbors to promote healthy hydration during summers. President Partner Vandana Sharma highlighted the benefits of Matka water, including its natural cooling effect, maintenance of waters natural pH, and presence of essential minerals like calcium, magnesium,iron and keeps body metabolism intact . She also emphasized that Matkas are eco-friendly, have anti microbial properties ,are sustainable, and, pocket-friendly Their use saves electricity and promotes pottery, which aids in rural empowerment. In contrast, fridge water can be harmful as it may contain chemicals from plastic containers, alter waters natural pH, and harbor bacteria. Refrigerators also consume electricity, contributing to emissions.
