Rotary Club Roopnagar Organises Blood Donation Camp; Collects 32 Units
Roopnagar, July 12, 2026 – The Rotary Club Roopnagar, in association with the Anti-Karathan Anti-Crime Foundation, successfully organised a blood donation camp today at Shiv Mandir Swargkar Sabha, near Gandhi Memorial National High School, Ropar. The camp, held from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Sunday, witnessed an overwhelming response from the community, with a total of 32 units of blood collected.
The camp was inaugurated jointly by Rotary Club Roopnagar’s President Rotarian Gagan Saini, Secretary Rotarian Ashok Chadha, Chairman Rotarian Inderpreet Singh, and Community Director Rotarian Gurpreet Singh. The event aimed to address the critical shortage of blood in local hospitals and to spread awareness about the life-saving importance of voluntary blood donation.
Speaking on the occasion, Rotarian Gagan Saini, President, said, “Blood donation is the noblest form of charity. A single unit of your blood can save someone’s life. Today’s collection of 32 units is a testament to the generosity and social responsibility of our citizens. We are deeply grateful to every donor who came forward.”
Rotarian Ashok Chadha, Secretary, expressed his gratitude to all participants and volunteers. “Every drop of blood counts. It is heartening to see people from all walks of life – youth, women, and senior citizens – donating with such enthusiasm. This camp not only helps save lives but also strengthens the fabric of our society.”
Rotarian Inderpreet Singh, Chairman, highlighted the club’s long-term commitment to community service. “Our motto is simple: donate blood, save lives, and make society better. Each small step we take today can become a big hope for someone in need. We urge everyone to make blood donation a regular habit, not just a one-time act.”
Rotarian Gurpreet Singh, Community Director, provided operational details: “All donors underwent a thorough medical check‑up before donation to ensure their safety and the quality of collected blood. We followed all health protocols, including COVID-19 guidelines. The response exceeded our expectations, and we are already planning our next camp in the coming months.”
The camp was supported by a dedicated team of doctors, nurses, and volunteers who ensured smooth registration, medical screening, and post‑donation care. Refreshments and certificates of appreciation were distributed to all donors as a token of gratitude.
Many donors shared their experiences. A first‑time donor, Mr. Amit Sharma, said, “I was nervous at first, but the team made me comfortable. Knowing that my blood could help accident victims or patients undergoing surgery gives me immense satisfaction. I will definitely donate again.” Another regular donor, Mrs. Sunita Devi, added, “Blood donation is a duty, not a favour. If we all donate twice a year, no hospital will ever run out of blood.”
The Rotary Club Roopnagar has a long history of organising health‑related community service activities. This camp is part of its ongoing mission to promote humanitarian values and support the healthcare infrastructure of the region. The club thanked the management of Shiv Mandir Swargkar Sabha for providing the venue and the local administration for their cooperation.
Rotary Club officials reiterated that blood donation is safe, simple, and saves lives. They appealed to the public to come forward in large numbers for future camps and to encourage family and friends to do the same. They also announced that the collected blood would be handed over to the district blood bank for distribution to needy patients across government and private hospitals.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks, where all office‑bearers acknowledged the selfless spirit of the donors, the relentless efforts of volunteers, and the professional support of the medical team. They emphasised that “One drop of blood can save thousands of lives” and that the club remains steadfast in its pledge to serve humanity.
