Rotary Club Roopnagar Spreads Pongal Cheer In a heartwarming gesture, Rotary Club Roopnagar co-pilots brought smiles to the faces of underprivileged ladies living in a South Indian street near Gaushala, Ropar, on the eve of Pongal. The team gifted 16 new festive sarees to the ladies, who were overjoyed by the thoughtful gesture done on 13 jan 2026 The ladies expressed their gratitude, and the co-pilots were equally delighted to see the bright smiles on their faces The co-pilots were thrilled to note that the ladies, who are originally from Tamil Nadu, felt happy and appreciated that their festival was recognized and celebrated by the Punjabi community. "It felt amazing to connect with our South Indian friends and show them that their culture is valued here," added the co-pilots This initiative showcased the spirit of unity and cultural exchange, as Punjabis came together to celebrate a Tamil festival.
